Introduction to Workers' Compensation Claims

This course provides participants with a comprehensive overview of workers' compensation, including its history and evolution, up to the present system. The scope of this course is nationwide—significant state-by-state differences are noted, but universal concepts and NCCI rules are core concepts. The course provides a basic understanding of insurance and self-insurance options, the concept of exclusive remedy, definitions of employer and employee, typical policy construction, criteria of industrial injury (AOE/COE), standard benefits, medical issues, workers' compensation law and the legal/regulatory environment, statutes of limitations, vocational rehab and return to work.
